The Ngultrum is the local currency, which is pegged to the Indian rupee, and both currencies are acceptable all over Bhutan.
There is an Exchange at the Airport, as well as the Bank of Bhutan in Paro and Thimpu, where 100 USD notes have a better exchange compared to lower denominations.
